Barbara Minton Watson, age 74, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 15, 1947 in Person County, VA to the late Richard and Colene Greene Minton. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Dale Watson; one daughter, Teresa Barnette Thompson; and her father and mother-in-law, Odell and Amanda Watson.
Mrs. Watson was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 52 years, Tex Stanley Watson, of the home; one son, Bobby Barnette of Lenoir; three brothers, Namon Minton, Wayne Minton, and Mack Minton and wife Mary Jane, all of Lenoir; five sisters, Shirley Calloway and husband Claill of Hudson, Wanda Hamm, Bonnie Townsend, Diane Casper and husband Tommy, and Ruby Casper and husband David, all of Lenoir; four grandchildren, Bobbie Lee Barnette, Ashely Barnette, Gavin Watson, and Charlie Barnette; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Leonard Younce and Rev. Horace Minton. Interment will immediately follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Ferguson.
