Johnnie Lee Jones, of Leon, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the age of 66. Johnnie was born on July 22, 1955 in El Dorado, Kansas to Glenn and Scheryl (Brewer) Jones. Throughout his life he worked in various fields, including spending some time in the oil field, but his proudest job accomplishments came from being the Chief of Police in Leon, Kansas for around 18 years and being the Deputy Fire Chief in Leon, Kansas. His other proudest accomplishments in life came from raising his three kids. He enjoyed coaching for their various sports teams throughout their childhoods. Johnnie also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working cattle. Johnnie was a very special man to his family and his community, and he will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish are his children, Justin (Megan) Jones, Jeffrey (Mycah) Jones, and Tiffani (Kyle) Gibson; and grandchildren, Cole Woods, Logan Gibson, Sage Jones, Bentley Gibson, Kort Jones, and Cedar Jones.
Johnnie is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Scheryl (Brewer) Jones.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorial donations in Johnnie's name to the Butler County Fire District #9 in Leon, Kansas.
A funeral service will be held at 9am on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Leon Cemetery.
