Mike was from Hot Springs, Arkansas but moved with his wife to Stuttgart in 2020. They settled into a little home, they both loved, by the railroad track and he often spoke of how the sound of the trains was so soothing to him. Mike lived a hard life from childhood to adulthood. He had his issues but deep down was a good person, just very misunderstood. He fought bone cancer from his first surgery at age sixteen to the end of his life. His journey was long and painful but he fought as best he could.
Mike worked for the City of Hot Springs Fleet Services before becoming a Rollback wrecker driver for Lester's Automotive and Towing in Jessieville, Arkansas. He was a Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter and was a Certified EMR after completing an eighty-hour course through National Park College in Hot Springs. He was also Certified in woodland fires.
Mike's hobbies were Demolition Derby cars which he ran for many years in Hot Springs back in the 80s. He worked at Millcreek Haunted House for nineteen years and Halloween was his favorite holiday and he and his wife were married on Halloween. He also enjoyed welding. He collected eagles and wreckers. Mike was a mechanic all of his life but found his passion in being a Rollback Wrecker driver from 2017 to 2020 when he had to stop due to his cancer diagnosis. He loved working for Lester's Automotive and driving the wrecker. He often talked about his adventures and all the people he met while driving for Lester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Survivors: wife, Tammy, whom he knew since childhood; step-son, Jonathan; sisters, Sandy, and Karen (Dale); sons, Thomas, Samuel and Stephen; and his best friend, Lester Woodson.
At Mike's request, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral or memorial at this time.
