Kathleen Josephine "Katie Jo " Johnson, went to her heavenly home October 26, 2021, at the age 34 years. Katie was born in Dallas, Texas on October 26, 1987. She was a victim of domestic violence that resulted in homicide.

Katie Jo was a brave and adventurous young woman who loved life. She was passionate about health and fitness, which included being a boxing trainer, as well as helping others achieve their fitness goals as a personal trainer. She was a country girl at heart and especially loved animals and spending time at the Dylla family farm in St. Hedwig, Texas; playing with her nieces and nephews; visiting family and sharing time with her parents and siblings; and going to the San Antonio Rodeo every year.
Katie Jo was an excellent markswoman who, as a volunteer, taught gun safety to women through the NRA. She was an avid hunter who had recently taken up archery to add to her hunting opportunities. Among her many hobbies she included ancestral research, and was a proud descendant of John Locke Barkley and his son, Benjamin Bostic Barkley. She was the great granddaughter of Fellie Dupree Barkley and Lillie Mae Dell Gaillard Barkley.
Katie Jo was an outspoken conservative willing to debate anyone with the courage to challenge her beliefs. Lastly, Katie Jo was a Christian believing that the Lord Jesus Christ was her Savior.

Katie is survived by and will be forever missed by her mother Joey and step-dad Richard; father, Jeffery and wife Kay; siblings, Stacy (Jared), Jennifer (Nathan); step siblings Jennifer , Rachel (Gene), Stephen (Roxanne); nieces and nephews, Cameron , Andie , Christopher , Grayson ; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold Marsh Barkley and Peggy Joe Freeman Crenshaw; paternal grandparents, Thomas Dalton and Nellie Jane Johnson; uncle, William "Butchie" Barkley, and cousin, Charles "Charlie" Baldwin, Jr.

A visitation will take place from 9:00-10:00 am Monday, November 1, 2021 at Finch Funeral Chapel, La Vernia, Texas.
