Ronald Leaper of Dunnellon, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the age of 81.

Ron was born to parents Charles and Mary Virginia Leaper on December 2, 1940 in Colver, PA. He grew up as the eldest of six and married Sandra Pretty of Malden, MA in 1962. Ron joined the US Navy in 1958 as a Radioman and Foreign Service in 1962 as a Communicator. Together with his wife and family, they spent many wonderful years living overseas and making lifelong friends in Managua, Nicaragua; Vientiane, Laos; Jakarta, Indonesia; Lusaka, Zambia; Oxford, England; Kaduna, Nigeria; Kabul, Afghanistan; and Athens, Greece. Ron retired in 1991 and worked contractor jobs with the Federal Government in the Washington DC area and retired for a second time in 2002 when he and his wife moved to Dunnellon, FL. Ron was happiest on a golf course trying to perfect his game.

Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years Sandra; daughter, Lisa Cox (Chris); daughter, Michele Ebsen (Ronnie); sister, Yvonne Rice; brother Richard Leaper (Tracy); granddaughter's Robyn Beveridge, Paige Sensabaugh, Kayleigh Ebsen, Shelby Ebsen; grandson Jake Sensabaugh; eight nieces and four nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Leaper, Mary Virginia Leaper, sisters Cynthia Leaper and Rose Marie Burnett (Carl); and brother, Thomas Leaper.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date both in Dunnellon, FL and Fredericksburg, VA.
