Donald Floyd Dingus, 36, of Santa Rosa, died Monday at a local hospital after a short illness.
A native of Oklahoma City, Okla., Dingus was a heavy equipment operator for the Sonoma County Road Department for 16 years. He came to California and to Sonoma County in 1947.
He was a member of the Sonoma County Organization of Public Employees and the Redwood Pollee Athletic League football program.
He is survived by his wife, Judith L. Dingus, Santa Rosa; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Dingus, Santa Rosa; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Don Downey, Santa Rosa; children, Jason H. Dingus and Staci D. Dingus, both of Santa Rosa; stepchildren, Robin D. Schafer and Can-di M. Hall, both of Santa Rosa; Alan D. Hall, Arizona, and Darcy C. Hall, Nevada; sister, Faye Harmon, Hop-land, and two grandchildren and one niece.
Services were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at Eggen and Lance Mortuary, with Mac Lancaster of Stockton officiating. Inurnment is private.
