Shawn Maurice Brown (Rock) was born on February 6th, 1970 in Prince George County, Maryland to Althea "Tia" Jackson and the late David Brown Jr. He was called home to be with the Lord on December 12, 2021.

Shawn was a student of the Long Branch School system and graduated in 1988. He contributed to the Long Branch football 1987 championship team. Shawn went on to further his studies at Ramapo College.

In the late 80s, Shawn followed his passion and joined the U.S Army. He served in the Gulf War as a frontline medic. He served our Country honorably in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he held many supervisory positions in the public service field including Monmouth Medical.

He was known as the life of the party and was ready for any dance battle. He was a loving son, nephew, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.

Shawn leaves his cherished memories to his mother, Althea Jackson, his brothers, David Ogburn, Troy Brown, and Robert Green, his sisters, Markitta Jackson, Erica Brown, Tyesha Brown-Scarborough (Rodney), and Odessa Green; step brothers, Raymond and Charles Jackson; step sisters, Ramona and Dana Jackson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 18 from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 3:00 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Avenue in Long Branch. Interment at Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veteran Cemetery will be private.
