Religious Figure. Blessed Stella Mardosewicz was the Provincial Superior of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. During World War II on August 1, 1943, the Nazi Gestapo rounded up Blessed Stella and ten of her sisters and executed them outside of Nowogrodek, Poland (now Navahrudak, Belarus). She was beatified by St. Pope John Paul II on March 5, 2000.
