Port Jervis, NY

Charles "Charlie" Washington Foster of Port Jervis, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 90.

He was born March 4, 1931 in Vere, Clarendon, Jamaica, W.I., son of the late Nathaniel Foster and the late Adina Walker Foster. Charlie was the widower of the late Enid Mullings Foster who died December 26, 2010.

He worked as a Welder for Crown, Cork and Steel Welding, Inc. in New Jersey.

Charlie attended the First Assembly of God Church in Port Jervis and the Family Church in Middletown, NY.

A family statement read: Charlie loved to read, especially the NY Post and the Holy Bible. He would also go for a walk every day.

Surviving are son: Glenroy B. Foster and his wife Gloria; 7 daughters: Veronica Foster, Pam Foster, Patma Foster-Skervin and her husband Louis, Norma Foster-Pinnock and her husband Rodrick, Sharon Foster, Karen Foster-Riegert and her husband David and Tamara Foster; brother: Silvan Foster; 2 sisters: Ethel Foster and Delsey Foster; 25 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his son: Charles Washington Foster, Jr. and daughter: Angella Foster.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 from 9:00 - 11:00 am at the First Assembly Of God, U.S. Route 6, Port Jervis, NY followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at the First Assembly Of God with Pastor Tom Zahradnik officiating. Burial will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
