Brenda Lee

Corryton - Brenda Goins Lee – known by many as "Sister", age 79, of Corryton, TN passed away at her home on Monday, November 29, 2021. Brenda graduated from Holston High School Class of 1959 and attended the University of TN. From there, she went to work at South Central Bell, University of TN and retired from TVA in 1994. Brenda was a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church, House Mountain Baptist Church and followed Clear Springs Baptist Church online after she was unable to attend. Sister's love of music began at an early age as she was an accomplished pianist and organ player. She also sang high soprano in choirs for many years. Brenda had a special gift when it came to cooking and baking. We all enjoyed her chicken dumplings and casseroles; but most of all, we all enjoyed her delicious desserts. Brenda always had a fresh homemade dessert to offer at all times. We always laughed at Sister saying her fictitious friend "Ms B" came in at night and ate all the cake. Fred and Brenda had a special kind of lifelong love and were totally committed to one another. Very seldom did you see them apart as they loved doing everything together. They absolutely loved camping and spent several winters camping in Florida where they were known for their low country boil gatherings. Brenda was such a giving person and always put others first. She had a beautiful smile and the most kind spirit. She will always have a special place in our hearts. Preceded in death by father, JH Goins; and mother, Mildred Bridges Goins Coleman. Survived by her wonderful husband of 60 years, Fred Lee; son, Greg Lee; grandchild, Alex Lee; Alex's brothers, Joe Kirchhofer and Andrew Kissinger; and sister, Barbara G. Lyke. The family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 PM Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Young Williams Animal Center, 3201 Division Street, Knoxville, TN 37919. Arrangements by Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 865-523-4999. www.bridgesfuneralhome.com
