Joyce Anne Anderson, 76, of Linden, Pa., entered the eternal gates of Heaven with her daughters by side on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021, at the Gatehouse. Our family would like to thank Dr. Alexander Nesbitt and the entire staff of the Gatehouse for their extraordinary care during Joyce's brief stay. Joyce was born on April 11, 1945, in Duluth, Minn. She worked as a secretary throughout her life. Joyce retired in Clearwater, Fla. Entertaining guests was something she greatly enjoyed. Joyce loved the sunshine as much as she loved showing visitors around, while always making sure homemade cookies were available. She will be missed for her hospitality, sense of humor and loving spirit. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard B. Anderson, whom she married on Dec. 2, 1968. She was also predeceased by her mother and father, Marjorie (Miller) Simonson and Ole Simonson and her brothers, Allen Simonson and David Simonson all of Duluth, Minn. She is survived by her very special sister, Jeanne Carlson, Terre Haute, Ind., sister-in-law, EJ Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn., her daughters, Susan Danneker (David), Linden, Pa., Lyn Anderson, Northumberland Pa. and grandchildren, Darren Anderson, Atco, N.J., Derek Danneker (Sarah) Harrisburg, Pa., Nicole Danneker Pittsburgh Pa., Kurt Danneker, Athens Ohio and Brooke Danneker, Linden Pa. She is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Joyce loved the Lord and we are certain that she is in Heaven showing off her baking skills.

A gathering of friends and family to remember Joyce will be held at City Alliance Church at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, with Pastor Nithin Thompson officiating. Joyce had many friends and family members across the country and for this reason, her service will be livestreamed on the City Alliance Church Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joyce's name may be made to the City Alliance Church or the Lycoming County SPCA.
