Jerry Blackburn Young "J.B.", 82, of Lexington KY, passed away on December 12, 2021. Jerry was born in Nashville, TN, to the late William Young and Ruth Markham. Jerry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of several organizations, including the Toastmaster's Club for 50 years, the Ancient Age Street Rod Association, the Kentucky Storytelling Association, and the Bluegrass Amateur Radio Society Inc. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents William and Ruth Young; his brother Tommy Young; and his sister Billie Snawder. He is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Sylvia Young; his sons Michael Young and Bobby Young; his daughter Trish Quinn; his brother Paul Young; his sister, Mary Jo Tazewell; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Main Street at 12:30 PM. A visitation will be the same day at 10:30 AM until the service. Burial will follow the services at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Galilean Children's Home in Liberty, KY. There will be a last call ceremony for J.B. tonight, December 14th, 2021, and 8:30 PM at frequency 146.940.
