Timothy and Susanna Blodgett were the three times great grandparents of Joseph Blodgett. They came from Suffolk, England in 1635 aboard the ship "Increase" to Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Joseph Blodgett was the son of Timothy Blodgett and Millicent Perry Blodgett of Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts.

On, October 11, 1798, Joseph Blodgett married Thankful Hawks in Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts. They had thirteen children: Foster, Sally, Joseph Jr., Prescott, Selah Hawks, Thankful Tryphosa, Edmund Stiles, Susanna, Susanna Fidelia, Adeline, Levi and Lucy Angeline were twins, and Selah Hawks Blodgett.

About 1815, The Blodgetts moved from Deerfield, Franklin County, Massachusetts to Fitzwilliam, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. Their last four children, Adeline, Levi, Lucy and Selah were born there.
