Glenn J. Smith, 51, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd. He was born on January 7, 1970.

He was employed by the U.S. Census Bureau and was formerly a mortgage broker at Envoy Mortgage in Louisville, KY for several years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He utilized his love for music and talent for public speaking as a D.J. throughout Indiana and Kentucky for many years and was a member of the board for the charitable foundation CABO WABO for approximately 10 years, benefitting multiple local charities. Glenn loved to entertain his family and friends with stories and laughter at parties, holiday gatherings and their "home in the woods". Glenn was a true NY Yankees, Knicks and Giants fan through and through. He could recite players and statistics like no one else. Glenn held a strong passion for saving and providing shelter for animals in need and a very special place in his heart for their own cats and dogs. He would say becoming a grandparent to Ruthie, Jasper and Aniston was one of the best things that ever happened to him. Loving and caring for them brought him so much joy and happiness. Glenn was the type of person that would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend. To know him was to love him, and if you were lucky enough to be loved by Glenn, you knew it was an absolute and unconditional love.

He is survived by his wife Mary Tuttle of New Albany, IN; step-son Cole W. Tuttle of Columbus, OH; step-daughters Brook E. Neace (Jon) of Floyds Knobs, IN and Amy M. Tuttle of New Albany, IN; his parents John & Diane Smith of Jeffersonville, IN; brothers Christopher M. Smith (London) of Lanesville, IN and Kenneth R. Smith (Christina) of Charlestown, IN; sister Cassandra L. Smith of Louisville, KY; 3 grandchildren Ruthie Proctor, Jasper Tuttle and Aniston Thompson;2 nieces Maevy Smith and Marita Smith;1 nephew Jackson Smith; and far too many friends to name.

Glenn was preceded in death by his grandparents John & Irene Quinn and Glenn & Ruth Smith.

Cremation was chosen. E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Glenn's family will be having a Celebration of Life in January 2022, details will be provided at a later date.
