Dorothy Jane Fuller was born on August 14, 1925 in Trego County, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Frieda Finkbeiner Folkers. She died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Mitchell County Hospital in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 96.

She graduated from Trego County High School in 1943. Following graduation, she attended the Nurse Cadet Corp at the Trinity Lutheran Hospital in Kansas City. She had looked forward to helping the soldiers during the War, but the war ended before she graduated. She went on to St. Louis, where she did her post-graduate work in surgery. She also enjoyed a lot of St. Louis Cardinals games, and dances on the Admiral ship that was stationed in St. Louis. She then moved to Joplin, where she took over the head of surgery at Freeman Hospital.

Dorothy came to visit a friend in Scottsville, and she was set up on a blind date with Thayne Horne. They later married in 1949, and a daughter, Ginger was born to the union. They were privileged to be married until his death in 1974.

She did some private nursing work and worked in the surgery department at the Beloit Hospital for many years, and served as the on-site administrator from 1966-76, when she retired.

On May 2, 1976, she was united in marriage with PM Fuller, and she took great joy in raising his youngest son, Jeff, while also enjoying his older children and grandchildren, as she was affectionately known as "Grandma Dot". They enjoyed more than 30 years of marriage together until his death in February, 2007.

Following her retirement, she took on golfing and playing bridge, and remained active until the last few years. She also enjoyed traveling with PM, and spending the winter months in Arizona.

She was an active member of the Beloit Country Club, Ladies Golf, many bridge clubs, and was always ready for anything.

In addition to her husbands, Thayne and PM, she was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; one brother; PM's sons, Brad and Mike; and grandchildren, Dustin and Clinton.
