Barbara Ann Cole was born on January 15, 1967 to parents James Dudley and Mary Agnes Elizabeth (Dorsey) Cole. She was the youngest of sixteen children. She was educated in the Charles County Public School system where she graduated from LaPlata High School, in LaPlata, Maryland. She was employed by Meridian Nursing Center which later became Genesis Health Care the LaPlata Center, as part of their Dietary Staff. She took the initiative and increased her knowledge of the different dietary needs for various medical conditions and she enhanced her management and administrative skills which led to her being promoted to Food Service Manager. She continued working there for well over 20 years. After leaving Genesis, LaPlata Center, she was employed by The Charleston Senior Community in Waldorf, MD also in dietary management. Barbara enjoyed spending the holidays and summer cookouts with family and outings with her friends. She was a Dallas Cowboys fan and loved a good-natured argument about Dallas Cowboys versus the Washington Redskins now the Washington Football Team. Some of her friends told of her Passion for Christ and her hunger to learn more about him. Shortly before finding out about her illness Barbara was fervently seeking Christ and expressed her overwhelming joy each time she would learn more about her Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents James Dudley and Mary Agnes Elizabeth Cole, sister Mary C. Cole and brothers Joseph Daniel, James Phillip and Patrick Bernard. She is survived by brothers Harold Cole (wife Vivian), Pearl Cole (wife Tina); sisters Virginia Farmer (husband Joseph "Pat"), Shirley Thomas (husband Charles), Geraldine Cole, Veronica Baylor, Charlotte Holton (husband Antwan), Catherine Proctor, Dorothy Bennett (husband Alvin), Cecilia Cole, and Audrey Cole. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She passed from this life on October 5, 2021 at the age of 54, after suffering with cancer. Barbara is our baby sister and she will be dearly missed, but we take refuge in the knowledge that she is at rest, free from pain and awaits the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
