Charlene Carter, age 67, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2021. She was saved as an eleven year old child at Old Spruce Pine Baptist Church and was a member of Bean Station Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Jane (Marlowe) Carter; siblings, Alvin "Chipmunk" Carter, Jr., Sylvester Carter, Gerald Keith Carter, Jeanette Gilliam, and Carolyn Horner; and grandson, John Luke Diamond. She is survived by her daughters, Valerie Diamond and Shanda (Cale) Longmire; son, John Travis (Kendra) Diamond; her beloved grandchildren, Tyler (Ashleigh) Parker, Tristan Overbay, Macey and Braxton Longmire, and Mackenzie and Dominic Diamond; one great-grandchild, David Parker; expected great-granddaughter, Juliet; special loving cousin, Glenna (Jerry) Gilliam of Limestone; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their gratitude to caregiver and friend, Drama "Dee" Davis and to Avalon Hospice Care. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, December 15th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Frank Allen and Rev. Brad Winstead officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, December 16th at Carpenter Cemetery in Mooresburg for graveside services.
