Barbara Ann Mitchell, age 75, of Carson City, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 in the comfort of her home.
Barb was a long-time member of the Carson City United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, both Alma and Carson City Chapters. She was well known for her beautiful quilts and sewing. Barb enjoyed her flower garden and spending her winters in Florida. Barb cared deeply for others and was always happy to donate her time. Most of all, Barb loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Barb is survived by her husband, Robert Mitchell of Carson City; daughters: Deanna (Kirk Newman) Mitchell of Haslett and Jennifer Mitchell of Saranac; son Steven (Wendy) Mitchell of Stevensville; grandchildren: Briana Hill of Bath, Cylus Hill of Mt. Home AFB, ID, Nathanael Mitchell of Stevensville, Elise Mitchell of Stevensville, Elana Mitchell of Stevensville, Noah Spiece of Los Angeles, Isaac Spiece of Saranac, and Levi Spiece of Saranac; great grandchildren: Teddy and Abbigail of Bath; sisters: Jane Quevedo of Apopka, FL, Pat (Harry) Miller of Elm Hall, and Peggy Chiarenzelli of Riverdale; brother: Don (Ethel) Allen of Maryville, TN; many nieces, nephews, and very special friend, Diana Tait.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Shirley (Ceasar) Allen.
Barb's life will be celebrated on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan (246 S. Main St.). Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM with the memorial service starting at 2 PM.
