Arlene was born November 10, 1933 at 10:12am, in Longmont, Colorado. Her birth certificate indicated her middle name as "Irlene" which should have read "Arlene", another interesting fact it indicates she was "legitimate". Really? Yes, really!

The family lived in Ault until mid 1941 when the family moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado. Then in early 1944 the family moved to Denver and rented a home located near the intersection of Bellview and University Blvd. Here Arlene would attend the 3rd and 4th grade at Curtis School. The family would then return to live in Ft. Collins in late 1945.

Following the death of her brother in Aug 1946, Arlene and her parents would move to Littleton, Colorado in 1946 where she graduated from Littleton High School on May 31, 1951. While attending Littleton High she was a head majorette and worked as a telephone operator in order to buy her uniforms.

Arlene married SSgt Airman Walter "Bud" Herald Proctor on July 31, 1953 at the Presbyterian Church in Littleton, Colorado. Bud was a veteran of the Korean War, had served three years in the Navy and was in his third year of service with the Air Force. They would have two children.

Arlene would be a stay at home mom until the children were grown, then she would work for a collection agency and later became the owner of Dr. Proctors Lounge.

Arlene loved life - camping, fishing, playing tennis and racquet ball, going to sporting events (baseball, basketball, football, hockey), traveling, gambling, going to horse and dog races. Yes, she even liked to shop! She could shop, until everyone else had dropped. Christmas was a very special day for Arlene and everyone around her. Shopping for presents, decorations galore, dinner, but most of all – family and friends.

For several years prior to her death on, December 25, 2000, Arlene attended the Nazarene Church in Denver. On Christmas morning she lost her battle with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.
