Carolyn (Mrs. Reverend Melvin Voss), 90, most recently of Belmond, Iowa, formerly of Parkersburg, Iowa, died on Monday, December 13, 2021, at her home in Belmond. Funeral services at Immanuel Reformed Church, Belmond. Burial in the Parkersburg Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, or to the American Diabetic Society.

Carolyn Bolman Voss was born the first child of William and Johanna Bolman of Holland, Michigan, on August 1, 1931. She graduated from Zeeland High School in 1949 and began working at the Holland Furnace Company in bookkeeping.

On May 24, 1955, she married Melvin Voss, a recent graduate of Western Theological Seminary in Holland. They moved to Raritan, Illinois where Melvin was Ordained and Installed as the pastor of the Raritan Reformed Church. While there sons Mark and Brian were born.

In 1960 they moved to Knoxville, Iowa to serve the First Reformed Church as it's pastor in 1967. In 1984 they moved to Belmond to serve Bethany Reformed Church until 1997 when they retired.

Carolyn was truly a partner in Melvin's ministry in directing the choir, teaching Sunday School, involved in the women's ministry, and entertaining people. She was involved in various Classis women's work, and she helped Melvin as she served as the Pleasant Prairie Classis Stated Clerk and Treasurer. She was also a great entertainer, yearly having the Consistory over for a meal, people over after church at night for coffee and at other times. For several years she served as counselors at our Classis Youth Camps and as music director at Vacation Bible Schools. She was active in community women's organizations in each of the communities where we lived. She sang a lot of solos in churches even singing a solo at her own wedding.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter-in-law Debra Voss, and her sister-in-law Marilyn Bolman.

Surviving are her husband, Melvin Voss, Belmond; sons Mark (Pam) Voss of Ames, Iowa, and Brian Voss of Parkersburg; two grandchildren Daniel (Molly) Voss of Quarry, Iowa, and Rebecca (Samuel) Schmidt; great-grandsons, Kuyper, Ryken, Zayne and Jayber; sister Joan Bolman of Zeeland, Michigan; brothers Bill (Kay) of Zeeland, Michigan, and Gene (Lois) of Zeeland, Michigan; nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Donald (Renee) Voss of Oakland Park, Illinois
