He was born October 16, 1931 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Frank and Sophie (Klonowski) Aleksiejczyk. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelynlee "Lee" Aleksiejczyk on August 13, 2020; three brothers, Joseph, Stanley and Edward Alex; and a sister, Sophie V. Cervenak.
Frank was a laborer then forklift operator at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in both the Steubenville and Mingo Junction plants, retiring in December 1992. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. Frank was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, and a former eucharistic minister at the church. He was a member of the Community of Gods Love and enjoyed reading, fishing and golfing.
Surviving are two daughters, Francene (Jack) Kavanaugh of Clemmons, NC and Stephanie (Mark) Olson of Canal Winchester, OH; a son, Frank E. (Mindy) Aleksiejczyk of Steubenville, OH; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-granddaughters; and four step-great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo Junction. On Friday there will be viewing at St. Agnes Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. James M. Dunfee, celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH, with military honors by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
There will be a vigil service on Thursday at 4:00 p.m.
