REVOLUTIONARY WAR VETERAN

Thomas Todd was born June 3, 1760, near Easton, Pennsylvania. While a resident of Rowan County, North Carolina, Thomas TODD volunteered June 3, 1777 and served as a private in Capt David COWAN'S and John ARMSTRONG'S company and Col DIXON'S North Carolina Regiment. His total tour of duty was 14 months and 7 days. He was in the Battle of Stone. He volunteered in 1781 as a substitute for his brother, Benjamin TODD, and served two months as a private, in Capt James CRAIG's company of light horse, under Col. DAVIE with the North Carolina Troops.Todd moved about 1791 from Rowan Co., N. Carolina to Madison County, Kentucky where he resided when a pension was allowed on his application which was executed Aug 13, 1832. Todd moved about 1839 from Madison County, Kentucky to Lawrence County, Indiana to live with his children. His wife was Zipphora CONGER and they had 11 children. Todd died April 5, 1843 and was buried in Gilgal Cemetery, which is located north of Heltonville, Indiana. The grave site is marked with the original stone.
