Holstein's career highlights came as a member of two NBA championship teams (1952-1953 and 1953-1954 Lakers), on a roster that featured Hall of Fame teammates George Mikan, Vern Mikkelsen and Slater Martin. Prior to his NBA career, Holstein played collegiate basketball at Cincinnati. In 225 career regular season games, he scored 859 points with 249 assists.
