TISHOMINGO -- Services for Don V. Tate Sr., 81, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Corbin Chapel with the Rev. Lisa Crone officiating. Interment will be at Tishomingo Cemetery.

Tate died June 29, 1997, in Houston. He was born June 21, 1916, at Coleman, to Don F. and Odelia Gaforth Tate.

He attended Milburn High School and Haskell Business College in Lawrence, Kan., and worked as an accountant. He was a member of Tishomingo Methodist Church, Scottish Rite and Lodge Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Southern Illinois. He was also a life member of the Lions Club and a perpetual member of Lodge 91, AF&AM.

Survivors include his wife, the former Frances L. Rhea, of the home; two sons, Don Jr., Santa Fe, Texas, and Robert, Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Julia Galvez, Tulsa, and Pamela Newcomb, Evansville, Tenn.; three sisters, Lorraine Ogden, Tulsa, Lea Bronaugh, Cleveland, and Mary Ford, Beggs. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Zack and Wyeth; and two sisters, Juanita Mckee and Donene Deaton.

Bearers will be E.J. Tolbert, Jerry House, Wallace Coppedge, Paul Roan, Ray Lokey and Robert Goodin.
