Charles Adail "Chock" Curtis

CHARLES A. "CHOCK" CURTIS, age 86, of Winchester, Tenn., departed this life on Friday, December 10, 2021, at St. Thomas West in Nashville following a brief illness. Mr. Curtis was born on December 16, 1934, in Anderson, Tenn., to the late Charlie Ebb Curtis and Frances Margaret McKnight Curtis. Mr. Curtis was a member of the Cowan First Church of the Nazarene. He served in many different capacities in the Church including, Usher, Greeter, Board Member and drove a route for the Bus Ministry. He was employed for approximately 30 years by CSX Railroad and retired as a Foreman in 1988. He was also a Part-time Barber and his shop was located in the back of the Helen & Chock's Mini Mart in Cowan until they sold the business in 1974. He was a loving and devoted Husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Curtis loved music and would often times just burst out into singing when a song he liked came to mind. He will be greatly missed by his family, Church family and all that knew him.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Mosley Curtis, of 63 years on February 7 of this year and brother, James H. Curtis. He is survived by his sons; Bruce Curtis of Winchester and Andy Curtis and wife, Samantha of Cowan, grandchildren; Anna Cameryn Curtis and Andrew Seth Curtis both of Cowan, One Brother, Tommy Curtis and wife, Kay of Tracy City, Tenn.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Sunday evening December 12, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 13, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor, Bill Welch and Bro. John Butler, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Cowan Montgomery Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved, Helen
