Wendell – Johnie Carol Dail, 83, died on Thursday, December 9, 2021 & Genelle Pearson Dail, 84, died on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. Johnie was born in Craven County, NC to the late William Henry & Madeline Wainwright Dail. Genelle was born in Alexander County, NC to the late Archie Lee & Blanch Hice Pearson.
Genelle Pearson Dail was an outgoing person who loved being with her husband, Johnie. She was also a phenomenal gardener and spent many happy hours planting and tending her gardens. She loved traveling, learning, and volunteering. Genelle was also an exceptional mother. She was active in garden clubs, the Extension Service, the Raleigh Women's Club, Zebulon United Methodist Church, and was a docent for the Governor's Mansion and tour guide at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum.
Johnie Carol Dail was the owner of Readilite & Barricade Company. Johnie was an avid collector & restorer of vintage Mercury, Ford, & Chevrolet vehicles. He was also a life-long beagler and raised many field champion dogs.
They are survived by their daughters, Leah Dail (Rick Schertz) of Cary, Carla Dail of Raleigh, and grandchildren, Jonathan, Sarah, Emily & Andrew Schertz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Zebulon United Methodist Church, Harbor Battered Women's Shelter in Johnston County, or the J.C. Raulston Arboretum.
Memorial service 11 am, Friday, December 17, Zebulon United Methodist Church.
