Lawrence, Richard "Punchy" age 82 of Maplewood, formerly of Columbia Heights passed away December 9th at St. John's hospital from complications related to Covid 19.

1957 graduate of Columbia Heights High School. 42 year employee of Soo Line Railroad. "Punchy" was an active community member for many years in his beloved hometown of Columbia Heights. He was the co-founder of CH Concerned for Youth, a member of the CH Athletic Booster Club and enjoyed several years of coaching and mentoring the youth in the area. Avid fisherman and hunter. He and Sandy were married 60 years. Proud Grandpa. The family will forever be grateful for the attentive and compassionate care provided by the medical staff at St. John's hospital, especially nurse Tracy on P2 and the palliative care team.

Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Irene; brother Douglas; sister in law Kathleen Lawrence. Survived by loving wife Sandra; children, Shelby (Scott) Hinshon and Scott (Elsa); grandchildren, Sophie, Shea, Cal, Camron Hinshon & Gavin Lawrence; brother Dennis; sister in law JoAnn Lawrence; brother in law Todd Zimba (Jeanne) and many nephews. He also adored his German shorthair Pointer dog,"Jake." Private interment Sunset Cemetery.
