In addition to his mother, survivors include two sons, Darreon Scales and Michael-Brandon Scales (Keia); three sisters, Brenda Garrett Valentine, Jennifer Garrett Hall and Tammy Poteat; a brother, Gary Garrett; a host of other relatives.
Burial will be at Highland Burial Park.
