With absolute shock and overwhelming sadness, we have to say goodbye. Zachary Tyler Moore was unexpectedly taken from us on December 1, 2021, in Murray, Utah, at age 32. Due to complications, after contracting Covid.
Zach was born to Craig and Laurie Moore, in Salt Lake City, Utah, and took his first breath on September 28th, 1989. Zach spent time in his younger years attending private school where his mother worked, enjoying being a big brother to his sister Kelsie, as well as traveling the United States with his father in a semi truck.Those experiences formed some of his fondest memories from his childhood.
Zach would accomplish anything he set his mind to. He had a passion for history and was very intelligent. We joked that he was the "human google" because of the amount of information he had retained and that he could recall at any given moment and explain it in detail. It was truly impressive.
Zach graduated from Alta High school in 2008 and a short time after he graduated, enlisted in the Navy. Where he completed bootcamp, excelled in marksmanship, and earned various medals. After Zach finished serving in the Navy, he returned home to Salt Lake City, Utah to be with his family and friends.
Zach lived a full and vibrant life with a close knit group of friends that meant the world to him. He spent his free time exploring the different wonders of Utah. He loved being outside and as we all know, he loved shooting his guns. Most of all he loved being there for everyone. He was never shy to offer help to someone and would always be there when you needed someone to listen to you. Zach had the most infectious laugh. He was always telling jokes and doing voice impersonations, he honestly was great at them. It felt easy going when Zach was around because his goal was to make everyone laugh and smile.
We hope that Zach's passing inspires us all to do better and be better people. We hope that Zach's passing also teaches us to cherish every moment that we have with others and to not let the small things get in the way of the relationships that we do have.
Zach, we are proud of the way you showed up. The way that you existed in this world and dedicated yourself to living the kind of life that was full, that allowed for happiness, and sadness, and growth. At the end of the day, we are going to be proud of the way that you fell in love with life, with the way you fell in love with a version of happiness that you created for yourself. We are going to be proud of the fact that you never took the back seat and moved in the direction of living, the direction of experience, and the direction of love. We are proud of you for being you.
