Harold E. Wilson (Gene), 79, passed away December 8th 2021 at his home in McCalla. Visitation will be held December 13th from 10:00am – 12:00pm at McCalla Memorial Funeral Home, followed by graveside at Liberty Baptist Church cemetery at 1:00pm.

Harold was born in Sylacauga to Lacy and Jewel Wilson. He married Ruby Wilson on August 1, 1959 in Tuscaloosa County. He worked for, and later owned Hardwick Company in Bessemer Alabama over a period of 63 years.

Harold is preceeded in death by his parents, Lacy and Jewel Wilson, and his sister Bonnie Jean. He is survived by his loving wife Ruby Wilson, his daughter Dean Wilson, his son Terry Wilson, his grand children Ann (Bryant) Frederick, Brad (Kristina) Wilson, Krystal (Shannon) Taylor, Randal Wilson, his great-grandchildren Logan, Kaylee, Mason, Riley, Kooper, Brodie, Miller, and his brothers Ronnie Wilson and Tommy (Betty) Wilson.

Harold was a devoted husband, father and Papa who loved his family deeply and was the cornerstone of the family. His family knew him as a kind and gentle man who would do anything for anyone with a heart of gold. He had a love for race cars, gardening, traveling, and Alabama football. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
