Evelyn M. Miller, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2021 at Golden Living Center - Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, IN. She was born March 25, 1928 in Lacrosse, Indiana, the son of Albert Reading and Virginia Lee (Good) Reading.
Evelyn loved watching Nascar Racing and at the time Jeff Gordon was her favorite driver. She was a Notre Dame Football fan a major supporter of the team. Evelyn also loved to read, do word puzzles, and baking. She was known for her chicken noodle soup and her Christmas cookies. But most importantly her passion in life was her family and she truly loved her grandkids.
On November 22, 1947, in LaPorte, he married Laurence H. Miller who preceded in death February 18, 2014.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy (Don Waldrop) Waldrop of La Porte, IN, Pamela (John Pierzakowski) Pierzakowski of La Porte, IN; two brothers, Carl Reading of North Judson, IN, Marshall Reading of North Judson, IN; two sisters, Annie Howard of North Judson, IN, Barbara Minix of Knox, IN; six grandchildren, Breyanna Ackerman, Ethan Daughtery, Madeline Jakel, Nicholas Jakel, Natalie Pietzakowski, Wesley Pierzakowski.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, 7 sisters and 5 brothers.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A graveside service of her cremated remains will take place on Wednesday, December 19, 2021 at Pine Lake Cemetery with Melissa Buche Dune'd Hospice Chaplain officiating the service.
