Funeral services for Thomas (T.A.) Jenkins will be Monday December 13th at 10:00 am at Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville with Charles Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Earles Chapel cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday December 12th from 5-7 pm.

Mr. Jenkins passed away December 9th in Jacksonville.

He was born January 1, 1927 in Ben Wheeler, Texas to Thomas A. Jenkins Sr. and Ruby Mae Young Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins served two years in the Army. He was stationed in Yokohama, Japan, attached to the 5th Air Force.

After returning home he married Geraldine Lewis, and together they followed the California fruit harvest for several years before settling down in Ironton, Texas, where he spent the rest of his life as a farmer and rancher.

Mr. Jenkins was a Christian of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of Beall Chapel Baptist Church.

Mr. Jenkins loved riding, training, and breaking horses and mules and often referred to himself as a horse whisperer.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents, wife Geraldine, brother Bobby Joe Jenkins, sister Margaret Hodges, niece Mary Jo McDaniel, and nephew Bobby Joe Jenkins Jr.

Mr. Jenkins was survived by many nieces and nephews and his friends and neighbors Raymond and Debbie Smith and the amazing staff at Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
