Mr. Thomas Neal Rogers, age 64, of Soperton, passed away on Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2021 at his home.

Born in Treutlen County, he was the son of the late LaFaye "Faye" Rogers and Shellie Pearl Harrison Woodall. Mr. Rogers was a lifelong resident of Treutlen County except for a short time in Perry, Florida. He had worked as a mechanic and motor grader operator for Treutlen County for many years before retiring in the late 1990s.

He enjoyed performing with the Lighthouse Gospel Group where he played the guitar and sang. He was committed to his daily devotions and loved to talk about the Bible and the lessons that he had learned through its pages. He had attended the Snowhill Church of God and the Greater Vision Community Church in Alamo.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rogers is preceded in death by his brother, James Rogers; step-brothers, Jim Ed Lanford and Johnny Wayne Lanford; step-sister, Dorothy Jean "Dot" Keene; and a granddaughter, Bailey Grace Williams.

He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Remona "Katie" Smallwood Rogers of Soperton; children, Angel LaFaye Rogers Demmer (Raymond) of the Orianna community, Soperton, Kimberly Rogers Williamson (Billy) of Oak Park, Thomas Neal Rogers Jr. (Lori) of Wrightsville, Shelly LaCrystal Williams (Steven) of the Lothair community, Soperton; brother, Leland Wayne Rogers of Bolivar, TN, LaFaye Rogers Jr. of TN, Jimmy Lawson Rogers of Soperton; step-brother, Rodger Phillips of Soperton; thirteen grandchildren, a great-grandson, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 13th in the Williams Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home with Reverend Troy Maddox officiating. His family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Rogers will be laid to rest beside his father in Red Bluff Cemetery.
