William "Bill" Wayne Rodgers November 18, 1934 - December 9, 2021
William W. "Bill" Rodgers, age 87, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois. William was born November 18, 1934 in Stonefort, Illinois, a son of Huey D. and Winnie E.(Ivy) Rodgers. He married Phyllis R. Powell on October 09, 1971 in Carrier Mills, IL. Bill attended Henshaw School in Ozark, IL and joined the US Army. When he returned home he went back to work at Reynolds Aluminum in McCook, IL where he worked until his retirement. Bill loved to fish, hunt, garden, and do yard work. He lived to spend time with his family and was very active in his church, First Church of God in Marion, IL. He was known as the "Miracle Man" and was a "Prayer Warrior". He is survived by his spouse Phyllis R. Rodgers (Powell) of Marion, IL; three children, Tony A.(Kimberly) Rodgers of Creal Springs, IL, Tim L. (Christina) Rodgers of Ozark, IL, and Sheila R. (Gale) Hefner of Belle Rive, IL; five grandchildren, Brandi (Josh) Johns, Joshua (Erin) Rodgers, Aaron (Kayley) McCalla, Timmy Rodgers, and Emahlee Hefner; ; and his Great Grandchild, Maci Johns, Great Grandchild Kylee Rodgers, Great Grandchild Kynslee Rodgers, Great Grandchild Kelsee Rodgers, Great Grandchild Kyson McCalla, and Great Grandchild Paislee Bizaillion; two siblings, Mildred Zimmer of OK, and Judy Carner of Marion, IL. He is preceded in death by one son, Steven W. Rodgers; his parents, Huey and Winnie Rodgers; and three siblings, Robert Rodgers, Cleda Nolan, and Lorene Furlow. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 14th, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the First Church of God in Marion, IL. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021, 12:00 PM at First Church of God with Rev. Roy Pepmiller officiating. Burial will follow at Robinson-Wise Cemetery in Ozark.
