Johnnie Lou King, age 81 of Gosnell, passed from this life on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born to John and Lou Eva Phillips Johnson, she was a retired teacher and a member of the First United Methodist Church in England and formerly in Blytheville. Johnnie received her Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University. Upon graduation, she started her career as a teacher at the Corning School District in Corning, Arkansas. From there she then taught at Dell School District, the Blytheville School District and many years at the Gosnell School District. Johnnie retired after 42 years of dedicated and faithful service from the England School District. Johnnie was the director of Parks and Recreation in England and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of the WMU and was a devoted church member. More importantly her life was dedicated as a devoted, caring wife, mother and Nana to her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James King; brother, Phil Johnson; and sister, Sally Robinson.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 12th at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Eddie Clemons officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
