Pamela (Pam) Kay Henderson slipped from her earthly body and graduated into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on December 8, 2021.

Pam was born December 27, 1952 to Carol Virginia and Marion Neil Davis at the Oakland Naval Hospital in California.  Upon her father's discharge from the Navy, the family moved to Houston. Pam spent her life in Houston except for brief times when her dad worked in Amarillo and Beaumont and one brief time when she worked in Dallas. On January 6, 1979 she married the love of her life, Joe Kelly Henderson; they have resided in the Sagemont area their entire married life.

Pam was preceded in death by her father Neil Davis and mother Carol McDaniel and is survived by her loving husband, Joe Henderson, stepson Mark (Kate) Henderson, stepdaughter Julie (Davis) Calhoun, grandchildren Malcolm, Walton and Cameron Calhoun, sisters Janet (David) Sauer, Darice Mulholland, five nieces, four great nieces, and five great nephews, numerous other extended family, and a host of dear friends.

Pam had a rewarding 30-year career with IBM, most of which was at the division supporting NASA and the space programs. During that time, she managed various administrative functions and the final 15 years was a Human Resource Specialist.

Upon her retirement from IBM, Pam went to work for her somewhat distant daddy with the purpose of developing a closer relationship with him. In the 2 years she worked for him she was able to move their relationship to one of tenderness and love, which was maintained until his death some 10 years later. She then went to work for Priority Ministries helping Laurie Cole develop and present a series of ladies Bible studies. She considered this one of the highlights of her career, getting to work with sweet Christian friends and impacting the lives of countless ladies for her Lord.

After retirement, she and Joe purchased a second home in rural South Carolina where they could be close to their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. She loved the time they spent there because she was learning about farming and could watch the family work the property surrounding their home. She also enjoyed traveling and was blessed with the highlight being a road trip in 2020 to Yellowstone, other sites in Utah, and ending at the Grand Canyon with dear friends, the Schneiders and Burchams.

Pam and Joe maintained their primary home in Houston where she was involved with her church, Sagemont Church serving in several capacities including leadership in her iConnect class, serving on several teams through the years and she was part of the transition of the retirement of her beloved pastor Brother John Morgan and the calling of her wonderful new pastor, Pastor Matt Carter.

Shortly after the trip to Yellowstone, Pam was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. She took on that diagnosis with the intended purpose of glorifying God by living and demonstrating to those around her God's abundant life, even in the midst of suffering, pain and a likely early death.  She was a shining example of God's grace, strength, comfort, and compassion as she endured 8 months of chemotherapy. She purposed to show friends, family, doctors, nurses and other care givers that God's Word is not just writing on pages in a book but is Him personally revealing Himself to us and His glorious plans for our eternity.  Even after the cancer spread to her brain, she was thrilled to have visitors she could show that indeed "Jesus is enough" even in facing death. She desperately wanted others to, as she put it "get it". She always said she was not afraid or anxious and could hardly wait to enter heaven where she would see Jesus face-to-face, see others who have gone before her, and meet new people she didn't know but with whom they shared mutual friends. She always trusted in God's perfect timing. To God be the glory.

Those honored as Pallbearers: Roger Conard, Roger Dauzat, Richard Harrison, Morgan Stiles, Dave Teer, and Mickey Thompson. Honorary pallbearer: Don Burcham.

The service celebrating her life will be held at Sagemont Church, Monday, December 13, at 11:00am., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sagemont Church NVision project.
