James Carroll Comer, 89, Brownsburg, passed away Dec. 9, 2021. A US Army veteran, Carroll enjoyed his career as a truck driver for Roadway Express and was a member of the Teamsters Union for 37 years. Before that time, he was a riverboat pilot on the Mississippi River. Currently a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Fayette but was a charter member of Memorial Baptist Church in Brownsburg. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Comer, brother Don Comer and stepdaughter Robin Comer. Survivors include children Carol Ann Kryder (husband Chuck), Kathy Paton, Sharon Comer, Stan Comer (wife Sherre), and Brett Comer (wife Angela); stepchildren Nancy Minton (husband Ford), Debra Rosemeyer (husband Mike) and Rhonda Ethridge; 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Carroll was an incredibly giving man of strong faith who would help anyone in need. Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Monday December 13 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 7300 S. SR 267, Lebanon, IN 46052, with funeral services at 1pm. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
