Betty Jane Napier Evans, 88 of Schulyer died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Albemarle Health and Rehab in Charlottesville. Born on October 4, 1933 in Nelson County she was the daughter of the late Elijah Thomas Napier and Mary Elizabeth Ripley Napier.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Jennings Evans; three sons, Roger, Buddy, and Bruce Evans; four sisters, Agnes, Katherine, Elizabeth, and Lucille; and two brothers, Luther and Alfred Napier.

She is survived by five sons, Steve Evans (Jane), Rickey Evans (Tracy) all of Schuyler; James Evans (Kathy)of Scottsville; Clayton Evans (Diane) of Lovingston, and David Evans (Pat) of Piney River; one daughter, Diane Evans (Daryl Thomas) of Schuyler; one sister, Helen Pierce; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Bradley, Tammy, Mindy, Stephanie, Stacey, Dale, Roger and B.A.; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Kristen, Lindsey, Chase, Ashton, Wesley, and Keaton; and four great-great grandchildren, Logan, McKee, Kaiden, and Gracie and her four legged friends, Cool Hand Luke, Sophia, and Ann.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at the family residence 389 Salem Road, Schuyler, Virginia 22969.
