MURTAUGH – Robert James May, 36, of Murtaugh, passed away at Cassia Regional Hospital, in Burley, with his mother at his side, after losing a valiant battle with COVID, on Friday, December 3, 2021.

Robert was born June 9, 1984, the fourth of five children born to Jeffery and Lorie Peterson May. He was welcomed into the family by his three older brothers who adored him. Robert was born in Orem, Utah, but spent most of his life living in Idaho. He loved Idaho and all of its beauty. He graduated from Minico High school in 2002. He had several different jobs over the years, but he always returned to trucking. He was currently employed by DOT Foods in Burley.

Robert loved spending time with family and friends. He commented to his brothers that his father was his best friend. He made many friends through his participation in the Scottish games alongside his father and three brothers. His sister even competed and eventually he got his boys into participating.

Robert was a great son, father, brother, companion, and uncle. He was fiercely devoted and would go out of his way to help others.

Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Berl and Norma Tew Peterson; grandmother, Betty Covert May; uncle, David B. Peterson; cousin, Brett Peterson; and aunt, Lynne Robinson.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Murtaugh Ward, located at 23709 Hwy. 30, Murtaugh, Idaho.
