Sarah Nelson Johnson, age 94, of Winston, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021. She was born March 7, 1927 in Gadsden, Alabama.

Sarah enjoyed her time serving the Lord and was devoted to her church, where she enjoyed serving iced tea on Wednesdays. She also was devoted to preparing packages for the military and for needy families. A very kind, generous and thoughtful person, Sarah prayed for others every opportunity she had. She loved her sister, Peggy's, cooking – especially her banana pudding. Sarah loved going on cruises, her weekly hair and nail appointments and in her younger years, going shoe shopping. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading the newspaper.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, J. W. Johnson; her parents, Elmer and Annie Belle Nelson; sisters, Marie Gates, Jenny Nelson and Mary Ann Nelson; and a brother, Billy Nelson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Peggy Lyle; and her close nieces, Cathy Davis, Karen Glover, Teresa Hamilton, Tammy Freeman; as well as many other loved ones and friends.

The funeral service is planned for Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 1:30 PM in the Rosehaven Chapel with Pastor Billy Wallace officiating. Sarah will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 am.
