Paul Maurice Claypool, 94, Hamilton, MO, passed away at his home on December 9, 2021. He moved to Hamilton seven years ago and previously lived in Polo, MO, and the state of California.

Paul was born on March 8, 1927, in Pleasant Hope, MO, to Virgil and Minnie (Neff) Claypool. After graduation from high school he honorably served his country during World War II in both the Army and Air Force serving in Germany at the end of the war. He worked for and retired after 32 years of service from General Motors in Kansas City where he worked in the painting department and held a supervisory position.

He was a member of the Polo, MO., American Legion, a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ, and he loved music, playing his guitar, animals but especially his dog, Molly, and restoring old cars. He also enjoyed gardening and he and his wife, Marcy, owned and operated the Claypool Nursery and Greenhouse in Polo for a number of years.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; step-son, Mike Conner; two sisters and three brothers.

On April 8, 1989, he married Marcy McNabb in Orange, California. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors: Children-Paul Allen Claypool, Roger Claypool, Diane Decker and Michele Carroll; Sister-Ruth Sturdevant, Fullerton, CA; 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.

A memorial service will be held at the Hamilton Church of Christ.
