Ron was born on August 26th, 1953, in Onslow County, North Carolina to Alice Jean and Conrad M. Crowder. He graduated from Doss High School in Louisville, KY in 1972 and relocated to Naples, FL in 1985. It was there he began a 35-year career at Waste Management. On May 25th, 1979, he married Anita Denise Crowder. They raised a son, Michael and a daughter, Carrie Ann.
Captain Ron had a passion for fishing, bowling, Louisville Cardinal basketball, and Florida State football. His love for his job and his passion for bowling turned into many perfect games and countless lifelong friendships. His passion for fishing was passed down and shared with his family and friends this is well documented in more fishing pictures than could ever be accurately counted. He his family and friends made countless trips to Tallahassee to relish in the fun and fanfare of Florida State University football. Go Noles.
Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Jean. He is survived by his wife Denise, his two children, Michael and Carrie Ann, his daughter-in-law Kari, and grandsons Michael, Sterling, Mason, and Grayson, and his father Conrad M Crowder.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday June 3rd, 2021, at the Palm Royale Cemetery at 1:30 pm and a memorial will also be held that day at Headpinz of Naples 4 pm-8 pm. The family requests any memorial donations be sent to the widow. They will be used to cover funeral expenses and for a donation to the Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute.
