Sue Clark, 78, of Galatia passed away Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11:20 P.M. at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born March 10, 1943 to Robert and Helen (Stricklin) Taylor in Harrisburg, IL. She was raised in the Ingram Hill community and was saved and baptized at the Ingram Hill Baptist Church. She graduated Harrisburg High School in 1961 and from Southeastern Illinois College in 1963. She worked at Skaggs Drugstore while in high school and after graduation from SIC, she worked at Harrisburg National Bank. She sold Tupperware for several years, was also a teacher's aide at Galatia Elementary School and later retired from Legence Bank in Galatia after 37 years.
Sue married Kenny Clark on May 15, 1964 and is survived by two daughters, Debbie (Mike) Camp of Harrisburg and Kelly Clark of Nolensville, TN. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Olivia (Clarence) Farmer, and three great-grandsons, Iverson, Jordan and Kohen Farmer, all of Harrisburg, whom she dearly loved. She is also survived by sister and best friend Judy (Dude) Brown of Harco and one brother Larry (Irma) Taylor of Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of Galatia First Baptist church where she was very faithful and served in the church for several years.
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Kenny, brother Bob Taylor, sisters Mary Hull and Janice Palmer.
She was very loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia with Pastor Todd Lockwood officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Brushy Cemetery.
