Carl Ward "Pete" Turner, 90, of Fishersville, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021. Carl was born in Mustoe, VA on September 13th, 1931, to the late Forest Nelson and Mazie Griffin Turner. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Geraldine(Siron) Turner.
Carl retired from the DuPont Company in 1993 and previously worked at The Homestead, Mize Supply Co., owned his own plumbing business, and generously donated his time and labor to ANYONE that asked. Carl was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served his country as an Army staff sergeant in the Korean War and his community as a volunteer fireman. He was also a member of West Waynesboro Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Hinkle (husband, Edwin) of Franklin, WV.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Carlton Dean (wife, Tena) of Fishersville and Duane Nelson (wife, Catina) of Stuarts Draft; a brother, Eddie Kyle (wife, Ina) of Staunton, and sister, Hilda Conner (husband, Billy) of Churchville, and one spoiled granddaughter/hunting buddy, Caitlyn Maxfield (husband, Ian) of Zebulon, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 2PM, Sunday, December 12th,2021 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville with family friend, Jeff Griffith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
