Born in Anderson Co., SC, he migrated with his wife and children to Dekalb Co., AL by 1860 and to Anderson Co., TX, by 1872. He married Catherine W. MURPHY ~1850 in SC. He and Catherine resided in Anderson Co., TX for the remainder of their lives. Their children included:
