Virgil Dale Hardy, 91, Bismarck, North Dakota, died, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at a local care center.

Virgil was born March 27, 1930, at rural Brainerd, Minnesota, to Paul and Viola (Monson) Hardy. He attended White Fish Lake District 55 grade school and graduated from Pine River High School, Pine River, Minnesota, in 1949. He served in the US Army from June 1952 to April 1954. On June 25, 1955, he married Elizabeth Anne Fischer in Bismarck. Virgil worked in management of heavy construction for Northern Improvement Company. He was a member of Spirit of Life Catholic Church, and the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, Bismarck; three daughters, Nancy and Lenny Fischer, Amidon, North Dakota, Tina and Lance Bauer, Bismarck, Sheri and John Anderson, Lisbon, North Dakota; four sons, Dale and Fran Hardy, Mesa, AZ, Perry and Sheryl Hardy, Mandan, David Hardy, Scott and Sheri Hardy, both of Bismarck; sister-in-law, Delores Hardy, 18 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Leonard, and Roger (Yvonne) one sister, Paulyne (John) Marshall; daughter-in-law, Dawn Hardy; two grandsons, James, and Jeremy Hardy.
