William Edward "Bill" Harvey, 59, of Eldon, Missouri passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 with his family by his side. He was born on September 15, 1962 in Jefferson City, Missouri; a son of the late Herbert and Bonnie Tay (Hamilton) Harvey. He was united in marriage to Sheri Parkhurst on November 7, 1987 at First Christian Church of Eldon where he was a lifelong member.

Bill was a 1980 graduate of Eldon High School. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in finance from Missouri State University and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He contributed over twenty-five years in the banking industry, majority of which in his hometown at The Mercantile Bank of Eldon, where he served as Vice President. In 2008 Bill was appointed by Governor Matt Blunt as the Miller County Collector. He was then elected for three more consecutive terms, serving up until his passing. Bill was an intricate part of the community he loved and resided in. He served on many local boards including the Eldon Economic Development Board and The Eldon Chamber of Commerce, serving as President from '94 - '95. He was an influential voice on important issues such as the 'I Care Committee', an Eldon School levy campaign that led to the construction of the upper-elementary and the 'Citizens for the Eldon Pool' campaign. Bill served on the board and as president of the Eldon Golf & Country Club for many years. He coordinated numerous tournaments and functions, his most proud being, 'The Big Dad Open' played on New Year's Day and the 'Fred Reed Memorial Tournament' that was played every Father's Day weekend. Besides being an avid golfer, Bill loved to watch Indy Car Racing, so much so, that he attended the Indianapolis 500 for nearly twenty consecutive years. Bill enjoyed watching various other competitive sporting events with his close friends, but most of all, he loved making memories and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Bill was well known for his dedication to integrity and honesty in his professional and personal life but most of all for his enormous heart and caring ways when it came to his close friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Sheri; children, Alexandria Harvey-Bailey (Taylor) and William Harvey; brothers, Harry Harvey (Janet) of Arizona and James Harvey of Jefferson City; sister, Mary Harvey-Swofford of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Ronda Schell (Jim) and Michele Smith (Greg); grandchildren, Caroline and Jackson Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Marian Harvey and James and Mary Hamilton; and beloved uncle, William F. Harvey.

Family and friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2021 at First Christian Church of Eldon. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bill Fogelsong officiating. Inurnment will be held in the Eldon City Cemetery.
