Doris Laverne (Reynolds) Arnott

Doris Arnott passed away on January 25, 2015. She was born in San Francisco on December 4, 1925. She grew up in San Anselmo before moving back to San Francisco where she graduated from Balboa High School. Doris Laverne Reynolds married Ralph Arnott in Ogden, Utah on April 28, 1947 while he was traveling with a Cincinnati Reds minor league baseball team. They moved from San Francisco into their new home in Daly City in 1949 where they raised four sons. She remained active in sports while being a homemaker. She served as president and secretary for numerous bowling leagues into her 80's. After raising her boys, she returned to the work force as a doctor's assistant for Dr. William Morris of San Francisco for over 10 years until his retirement in 1992. She and her husband remained active members of the Balboa Alumni Association and took many trips with the group.
She lost her husband Ralph after 65 years of marriage and stayed in the family home with the help of her wonderful caregiver Star Rodriguez.
She is survived by her four sons, Rex, Budd, Brett and Rory, their wives, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She and her husband's ashes will be scattered at sea in a private service and a memorial in her honor will be held at her son Brett and his wife Shawn's home on March 7th.
