John Cravin French Jr., 71, passed away on December 6, 2021, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Jay was a former employee of Va. House in Marion for 11 years and most recently Merillat Industries for 20 years. He was a carpenter and loved building things with his dad. He was preceded in death by his parents, John French Sr. and Carolyn French; and one brother, Doug French.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Barbara Hopkins French; sons, Chris French of California, Chad French of Marion, Va., and Ryan French of Chilhowie, Va.; granddaughter, Roselynn French; aunt, Mary Virginia Haga of Saltville, Va.; and sister-in-law, Jackie French.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Blevins and Pastor Joey Roland officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 12 until 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
