The eldest of four daughters of Glenn and Marguritte Morgan, she was born Sept. 7, 1938 in Shongaloo, LA. After graduating from Springhill High School in Springhill, LA, she married Dan Elkins and moved to Ft. Carson Army Base in Colorado Springs, CO, where her first child, Dan Elkins, Jr., was born. Shortly after that, they moved to Baytown, TX, where her second child, John Mark Elkins, was born.

After her children were older, she decided she wanted to go to college and complete her education. She attended Lee College in Baytown and continued her education at the University of Houston Clear Lake where she received her Bachelor's degree.

While attending Lee College, she fell in love with her second husband, Robert (Bob) Lazenby Wright. Upon their marriage she became stepmom to Robert (Choya) Wright, Jr., Kenneth (Kenny) Wright and Lydia Wright Richardson.

She and Bob helped establish and were active for many years with the Baytown Historical Museum. She was also an active member for years with Junior Forum. Glenda enjoyed cooking and entertaining, and she and Bob really enjoyed getting together with their "Meet to Eat" group of friends who took turns having everyone over for special meals and socializing. She loved decorating for the holidays and was especially fond of Christmas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Marguritte Morgan, and her husband, Bob.

She is survived by her sons, Dan Elkins, Jr. of Dripping Springs and John Mark Elkins of Baytown; stepsons Robert "Choya" Wright Jr. (Kathy) of Baytown and Gordon "Kenny" (Tomie Young) Wright of Winnie; stepdaughter, Lydia Colynn Richardson (Richard) of Baytown; eleven grandchildren Ashley Renee Elkins, Amanda Lauren Elkins Dorsett (Hunter), Daniel "Trey" Elkins III, Morgan Renee Elkins, Enjoli and Trinity Richardson, Robert (Taylor) and Joshua (Nicole) Wright, Neil (Jennifer) and William (Shandy) Pittman, Angela (Geoffrey) Murray and great-grandchildren Ryan, Colbie, Mason, JennaLynn, CaraLynn, Alexander, Benjamin, Samuel, Alexander James, Oliver, and Cameron.

The family requests gifts to the Lee College Robert Lazenby Wright Scholarship for the Natural Sciences in lieu of flowers.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Dan Elkins, Jr., Trey Elkins, Robert L. Wright, III, Kenneth Wright, Richard Richardson and George Cisnero III. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.earthmanbaytown.com for the Wright family.
